It has been a while since we last heard from Hatcham Social but looks like they are getting back together now. The guys are set to release a compilation album soon and actually are playing their first gig in five years on October 5.
In the meantime, Finn Kidd, one of the group members, has released a new album under the moniker Blue Moon earlier this year, through his own Crocodile Laboratories. It includes the tracks he recorded between his bedroom in North East London and Amy Studt’s Sleepwalker Studio, from 2014 through 2018.
As described on the Bandcamp page, “Black Hole sees him explore loss, lust, regret, depression and deception through drum machines, intertwined guitar lines and distorted vocals”. The record features 8 gorgeous lo-fi indie/noise pop songs with beautiful melodies, wrapped up in a dark and sentimental mood. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
