[video] Moreish Idols – Chum

On their latest single “Chum”, a third taster from the upcoming EP Lock Eyes & Collide, Moreish Idols are trying out a new role. This time they have left their post-punk image aside: instead of noisy and always-in-a-hurry rockers, we see gentle and vulnerable musicians who sing a bittersweet story about two lost souls getting mad at each other.

The true face of an energetic band is revealed only at the end when an entire soundscape is occupied by a crazy saxophone/bass clarinet. Lovely choruses match the best Britpop bands of the 90s, this is new territory for the group and for these experiments we love them.

The song is paired with a Sambu-directed video, where a deranged TV presenter (also known as Joyeria) welcomes the band to his late-night TV show hellscape to perform the single.

Watch below and pre-order the EP here, which will be out April 28 on a limited 12″ vinyl and digital release from Speedy Wunderground.
