Methyl Ethel, the project of Western Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Webb, has announced a new album.

Are You Haunted? is set for release on February 18 via Future Classic, and along with the news we also got a stellar new single “Proof”, an eclectic art pop cut that features Stella Donnelly.

Both musicians act in the creative and monochromatic music video for the song, which was directed by Jake himself. As described, it takes cues from German Expressionist film and explores the symbolism of black-and-white thinking and the fluidity of “truth” as a concept.

The album will also include the previously released songs — “Matters” and “Neon Cheap”.

Methyl Ethel, the project of Western Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Webb, has unleashed a new remix for his latest single “Matters”, done by Speedy Wunderground’s mastermind Dan Carey (under his artist pseudonym Savage Gary).

Methyl Ethel live in Milan’17

He transforms a brilliant art pop piece into the hard-hitting and throbbing electronic monster for dark dancefloors.

The track is out now via Future Classic. Hopefully, we will get an announcement of the new LP sometime soon.

Earlier this year Jake Webb, who creates music under the name Methyl Ethel, has returned with the fresh single “Neon Cheap”, which marked his first new music in 2021 and also his first song for the new record label Future Classic.

Now he is following it up with “Matters”, a perfect pop single with punchy, powerful chorus and psychedelic, slightly neurotic music video, directed and edited by Duncan Wright.
