[video] Gengahr – A Ladder

“A Ladder” is the first offering from Gengahr since 2020 when they released their third LP Sanctuary. The song is a refreshing addition to their strong discography, with its dreamy & ethereal soundscapes and thoughtful lyrics.

The track’s production is also noteworthy, with its delicate layering of instruments and subtle sound effects. The overall result is a lush and immersive sonic experience that captures the listener’s attention from start to finish. Simply put, it is a brilliant pop single, and this is the direction that the band seems to be taking forward.

Frontman Felix Bushe says the following about the new release: “A Ladder is a fun, trippy little song soaked in cartoon-like imagery. Essentially it’s about the power of true love and its ability to not only change the way we feel but also the way we see and interact with the whole world around us”.

The music video for “A Ladder” is a glitchy and playful piece that also features some fun performances from the band. It was directed by Billy Howard Price.

Only one thing can be better than the whole new record from Gengahr — a whole new record produced by Bombay Bicycle Club’s Jack Steadman.

When they shared a first collaboration entitled “Atlas Please” last year it was looking like that was just a one-off (and arguably band’s best song to date), but turned out that was a first taste of the whole new era.

Sanctuary is set for release in the very end of January via Liberator Music and is available for pre-order here. Along with the announcement the guys have revealed the album’s opener “Everything & More”.
