[song] Hatcham Social – If You Go Down to the Woods Today (Three Cheers for Our Side)

October 22, 2021October 22, 2021 acute.pop

In March next year DIY art pop band Hatcham Social will release a career-spanning compilation album titled We Are The Weirdos via Fierce Panda Records.

It is set to feature the selection of songs from the studio records of the group and also three additional never-released before tracks — Baxter Dury’s version of “Hypnotise Terrible Eyes”, Tim Burgess’s version of “Wild Creatures” and the lead-off single “If You Go Down to the Woods Today (Three Cheers for Our Side)”, which they are sharing today.

Originally written for their cult debut LP You Dig The Tunnel, I’ll Hide The Soil, the tune was revisited, finalized and recorded. It sounds fantastic, and it is really great to have such gem of a song unearthed. Die-hard fans of the band will also recognize an awesome bass line from “Jabberwocky” which is played a bit faster here.

Stream below and find more information about We Are The Weirdos here.
