[album] Peel Dream Magazine – Magic Is Pocketed

Surprise releases are something we love a lot, especially when they come from our favorite bands. One such gift was given to us last Friday from Peel Dream Magazine, the project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Stevens, who released his new 4-track EP Magic Is Pocketed.

It is quite short, just nearly 8 minutes, but all the songs are masterfully crafted and work perfectly as an addition to fantastic Pad, the latest album from the group.

The mini-release is out right in time for the band’s UK and EU tour, which starts tomorrow already (find more details about it in another post).

Check out the EP below and buy it here.

[album] Real Numbers – Brighter Then

The new EP Brighter Then from Minneapolis group Real Numbers (out now via Meritorio / Slumberland) sees them expanding to 5-piece and creating the loveliest jangle pop that will definitely appeal to the fans of The Field Mice or the early releases from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

The melodies are extremely catchy and all the sparkling songs here are the prime examples of melancholic shoegaze pop of highest quality.

Listen below and purchase the EP on Bandcamp.

[album] D.A. Stern – Aloha Hola

Aloha Hola

D.A. Stern is the solo project of David Aaron Stern, who originally released Aloha Hola last year on Twosylable Records, and now is rereleasing it on Slumberland.

Full of sunny melodies and memorable moments an album is a collection of wonderfully catchy pop songs with brilliant hooks, deep sincerity and a tinge a melancholy.

It will only be released on March 30 but you can already stream the whole thing below.
