[album] TV People – Nothing More

Enter autumn with Nothing More, the debut EP from Dublin-based band TV People, a very catchy post-punk release with strong melodies and lyrics.

It has some influences that you might acknowledge, and that is a positive thing because at the same time the group keeps it quite fresh, dark and really exciting. There are no weak tracks here, each one is basically a hit single, that keeps haunting you long after listening. Really hope they have some more stuff coming sometime soon.

[album] Motorists – Surrounded

Surrounded by Motorists was just released, but it has so much nostalgic power in it and somehow brings all the best from 40 last years of guitar music into one laconic, absolutely brilliant package of twelve tracks.

The аlbum unfolds in a dynamic, vibrant way, shaping between classic college rock, guitar-driven pop, and jangly post-punk, with a strong personality and contemporary touch.

[album] SUUNS – The Witness

With the stellar new release from Montreal-based trio SUUNS it is very easy to lose the sense of time and place: the songs are numbered and have titles formally but while listening they all merge together into one hazy and grimy big whole.

The band exists for more than thirteen years now and all three members are masters of creating beautiful experimental music, easily fusing ideas, references and experiences into a solid and organic body of work, that is both very addictive and genre-fluid.

[album] Breeze – Only Up

Not many musicians are as ambitious as Toronto-based producer and artist Josh Korody aka Breeze, who wrote, recorded and mixed his grand debut album in just 8 days.

Moreover, here he is digging through and reflecting on three decades of classic British new wave/post-punk/synth pop bands, and the result is Only Up, a hit-packed 10 track LP that features diverse, bombastic and instantly appealing songs.

If all of the above is not enough to get you excited, here is one more fact — a huge team of collaborators from the Toronto music scene such as Tess Parks, Cadence Weapon and members of Orville Peck, Tallies, TOPS, Broken Social Scene, Ducks Ltd, Moon King etc. got on board to help him with the record.

[album] The Shadracks – From Human Like Forms

The Horrors’ Rhys Webb joins Kent-based rock n’ roll group The Shadracks for their second LP From Human Like Forms, out now through Damaged Goods Records.

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish, this is a big record that will make you want to run around — the good old retro garage rock sound is very satisfying, especially performed with such taste and skill.

Besides, if you remember and like such early 00’s UK bands as Neils Children or The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, this stuff would definitely be right up your alley.
