Austin quintet Font announced their debut LP Strange Burden, which will be out July 12 via Acrophase Records.

Along with the news they are sharing a new single/music video “Hey Kekulé”. Inspired by the Cormac McCarthy essay The Kekulé Problem about a German chemist, the song is an energetic and irresistibly danceable earworm, soaked in playful, erratic chaos.

It is out with the cool and stylish music video, co-directed by Font and Blake Nelson, which sees Thom Waddill from the band twitching and gesturing on a platform, illuminated by a rotating light that casts his dynamic shadow on the wall.

Having teased us already with some great new singles, Perth misfit Peter Bibby has shared another new cut/video “Terracotta Brick”.

It has a more subdued tone and serves as a heartfelt musical journey and tribute to a sincere labourer, reinforcing Bibby’s standing as a voice for the Australian working class.

Bibby explains: “I came up with this little ditty while I was working as a brickie’s labourer. I took a direct quote or two from the boss, he was full of great lines. He was also full of piss on a regular basis, and it got me thinking about the connection between the building industry and flat out, celebrated alcoholism”.

All released songs would be a part of his forthcoming LP Drama King (set for release on May 31 through Spinning Top Records), which was produced by first-time collaborator Dan Luscombe (The Drones, Amyl and the Sniffers).

DEADLETTER are announcing today their highly-anticipated debut album Hysterical Strength, which will be out on September 13 through SO Recordings.

Along with the news they are sharing a new single/music video “Mere Mortal”, a powerful and thunderous art punk number that arose from the aftermath of a personal tragedy—a friend’s suicide.

Speaking about it, lead singer Zac Lawrence shared: “Though Mere Mortal was written in the wake of personal tragedy, its intention is not to convey the sentiment of subjective grief, but to act as an undoubtedly relatable tale of loss and longing for all those who themselves have been faced with and have had to navigate the confusing, painful landscape that bereavement leaves one confronted by”.

Las Nubes followed up their recent single “Enredados” with another new cut, loud and heavy garage pop banger “Would Be”. Both songs are taken from their forthcoming debut album Tormentas Malsanas, set for release on June 14 via Sweat Records Records.

The single is accompanied by a nostalgic music video, for which the band’s Ale Campos (guitar/vocals) edited an old home movie of her father in his late 40s doing tricks with a soccer ball.
