Swiss shoegazers Moonpools announced their new EP Hide and Seek, which is set for release on April 19 via Young and Aspiring.
Along with the news they are sharing a single/video “Never Mind” — a big, cathartic and extremely well-crafted track that features swirling guitar textures, dreamy vocals, and dense layers of noise. It is truly an immersive and ethereal listening experience.
Prepare for the sonic assault on your senses while listening to the latest one from Dublin noise rock four-piece PANIKATAX. “Rejection” hits hard and cuts through the noise, leaving an indelible mark on your musical psyche.
Their new, dark sound was largely developed during the lockdown of 2020-2021 when live music had subsided, providing the band with the opportunity to explore new directions. The result is brilliant and would definitely be appreciated by those leaning towards the darker/gloomier spectrum of things. The song seamlessly weaves together elements of punk rock, post-punk, noise rock, and experimental sounds, creating a musical tapestry that is both challenging and immensely satisfying.
The single is accompanied by a video directed by Ror Conaty. He explains his technique: “I processed the footage through circuit bent vintage analog vision mixers and rescanned it on a crt screen. I then combined that material with multi-layered analog feedback loops”.
Leamington Spa-based indie pop quartet Green Hands announced a new EP Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime, which will be out on March 1 through Stingo Collective.
Today they are sharing a second taste of the mini-album titled “Been Around”, and it’s an exhilarating sonic journey that captures the essence of indie rock fused with jangle/psychedelic pop undertones. It features a nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary sound, making it an instant hit.
The track is out with the appropriately fun and DIY music video, which was edited and produced by Grubby Pony.
Today Amsterdam’s The Klittens share the second preview of their forthcoming new EP Butter (due out on March 8). Titled “Reading Material”, it is a radiant track that bathes listeners in a warm glow from the very first notes. The song kicks off with a blend of jangly guitars and buoyant percussion, instantly pleasing and becoming a true earworm. It is also accompanied by a playful music video, created by the band.
The Klittens will return to the UK in a couple of days for some headline shows and a 6-date triple Dutch tour with their friends Personal Trainer and Real Farmer (as part of Independent Venue Week).
They have also announced an EP release show in Amsterdam for March, with the vinyl for Butter exclusively available in person from the band on the night. Find all the dates on Instagram.
Coinciding with an 8-date nationwide tour this January, Berlin-via-Queensland musician J Mahon unveils today a new single/video “Gold States”. It follows his debut album Everything Has A Life, which was released last September.
It is a great track that exemplifies Mahon’s talent for crafting melodic indie rock with introspective and often self-reflective meanings. Lyrically, he explores themes of personal experiences, ruminating on the pains of young adulthood.
