[video] Omni – Plastic Pyramid (feat. Izzy Glaudini)

After releasing “Exacto” just recently, Omni now share a new single/music video “Plastic Pyramid”, a duet featuring Izzy Glaudini of Automatic. It is taken from their upcoming album Souvenir which will be released on February 16 via Sub Pop. The band shares the following about the song:

“‘Plastic Pyramid’ was one of the first songs written for Souvenir. It took a while to figure out what arrangement worked best. We tore it apart and pasted it back together again a number of times before settling on its current form. Our friend Izzy Glaudini of Automatic graciously agreed to sing on the track, making it the very first Omni duet. We hope you like it”.

Omni have also announced headline shows in 2024 supporting Souvenir, with the band returning to the UK and Ireland for a string of dates in April.

Having teased us already with the singles “Solaire” and “Lizard King”, the Anglo-Parisian quartet Sourface unleashes another great song/video “Careless Love”. A true antidote to cynicism, this is a sincere and playful cut about love and its mighty power. It is taken from their forthcoming album The Eternal Summer due out on March 22.

The song derives an appeal from its over-the-top piano-fuelled 70s glam arrangement and vocalist/guitarist Ludo Aslangul’s heartfelt delivery, which makes it an ultra-smooth and enjoyable earworm.

Brooklyn art punk group BODEGA announced their new LP Our Brand Could Be Yr Life, which will be out on April 12 via their new label home Chrysalis Records.

BODEGA live in Milan’22

The album is a full ‘remake’ of an old band BODEGA BAY’s sole LP which was a self-released 33-track album from 2015. As mentioned, they approached this project like how a director might ‘remake’ one of their old films which meant writing several new songs and developing old ideas in new directions. Today they are sharing the first taste of it via “Tarkovski”, which is out with a cool music video, directed by Luca Balser.

The track is a vibrant amalgamation of indie rock and post-punk influences that’s sparking a frenzy among music enthusiasts. In addition, a B-side to the single, “Adaptation Of The Truth About Marie”, is available now exclusively from BODEGA’s Bandcamp.

Having released three punchy singles during the last couple of months, Birmingham duo Big Special had a great year, and with the latest song/music video “TREES” (which is probably their catchiest tune to date) it looks like 2024 would only be bigger for them.

The band nearly sold out their UK December headline tour, and they have now also been announced as headliners on DIY’s Now & Next UK tour for April 2024 + have shared news of their biggest London headline show to date for May 2024, at The Jazz Cafe.
