[video] Fat Dog – King of the Slugs

Fat Dog performing live at Micro Festival’13, Liege’23

Fat Dog is one of those bands that got very popular before releasing a single piece of music, thanks to their chaotic live show energy, magnetic charisma and great-great songs. Today they announce the signing to Domino Records and finally release the debut single “King of the Slugs”.

To say that it delivers is to say nothing. It’s a massive 7+ minute techno/rave/post-folk/rock/punk/jazz/whatever cut that is absolutely bombastic and smashes everything on its way.

Co-produced by frontman Joe Love and James Ford, the song is out now digitally, with a full 12″ inch vinyl pressing to follow on October 20. It is paired with the music video, directed by Dylan Coates.

Last month Snõõper released their excellent debut LP Super Snõõper, and now they are sharing a new video for the album’s standout track, a rowdy stomper “Music For Spies”.

The music video features a collage of wild highlights from the band’s live shows and it looks absolutely bonkers. Don’t miss them on the upcoming tour dates.

Formerly of now-defunct post-punk outfit Blanketman, Manchester singer/songwriter Adam Hopper carries on with his solo career, and releases the new song “Free To Roam” today.

Produced by Rob Kirwan (Hozier, U2, PJ Harvey), the track demonstrates Hopper’s talent and ability to craft a catchy and emotionally resonant tune with simple yet effective instrumentation. A true masterclass in creating a memorable indie ballad!

Together with the release comes a 16mm music video directed by Catherine Jablonski, which features Hopper musing by the hills and streams of Hardcastle Crags, near Hebden Bridge.

Back in June Sarah Mary Chadwick announced her new LP Messages To God, which will be out September 15 on Kill Rock Stars. She has already shared “Looked Just Like Jesus” & “Shitty Town”, and now we are getting one more new song, “Drinkin’ on a Tuesday”.

It’s another special offering from the talented artist, with her unique touch on haunting, powerful and emotional storytelling — no one does it quite like her. The single is out with the video, directed by Stacey Sian and which features Sarah with long-time collaborator and close friend Hank Clifton-Williamson.

[video] Fiddlehead – Fifteen To Infinity

Over the past couple of months, Fiddlehead have been slowly building up to the release of their new album, Death Is Nothing To Us. So far, we have heard two singles, including “Sullenboy” and “Sleepyhead”. And now, with the record finally arriving this Friday, the band are back with one more energetic preview, “Fifteen To Infinity”.

The music video for the track was directed by guitarist Alex Henery, and it was inspired by singer Patrick’s relationship with now wife and depicts a Bonny and Clyde-style couple from their adventurous love.
