Canada’s NOBRO are back with a smashing new single “Let’s Do Drugs”, a high-energy rock song that showcases the band’s signature sound.
The driving guitar riffs and pounding drums create a sense of urgency and excitement that is impossible to ignore. Lead singer Kathryn McCaughey’s vocals are powerful and confident, adding to the overall sense of strength and determination in the song about wanting to get wild for one more night. The single is out with the rowdy music video, created by Dan Esteban, Jeremy Shantz and Jennifer Wade.
On September 29 Molly Burch will release Daydreamer, her highly-anticipated new album (via Captured Tracks).
The latest teaser from it (after “Physical”) is “Unconditional”, a super catchy and emotional synth pop cut, producer by Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum. It is unveiled alongside the accompanying video, which shows Molly and her friends hanging out, playing with an ouija board and partaking in a pillow fight while dawned in brightly coloured silk robes.
Following the release of their acclaimed last year’s EP Human And Kind, London’s Folly Group return with the brand new single “Strange Neighbour”, a shapeshifting and groovy earworm that showcases the band’s raw energy and powerful message.
Sean Harper from the band shared the following about a new song:
“Strange Neighbour walks a couple of related lines at once. Louis’s verses and choruses are an ode to community as it dematerialises. Urban areas become un-neighbourly as spiraling rents force most people our age to move annually, and that’s if they’re lucky. At the same time, when it was being written, we had a sense that some of the music our peers were making came from a sneering, holier-than-thou place, voyeuristically skewing strangers’ perspectives to misrepresent another point of view and make their own more righteous.
So, “Strange Neighbour” is about recognising your own strangeness and that of your neighbours, because when two people from opposing walks of life meet, who’s normal?”.
It is out with the bonkers and cool music video, directed and produced by CLUMP Collective.
On September 15 Italian trio Greasy Kingdom will release their self-titled debut album via Opus Kink-founded label Hideous Mink Records.
The latest teaser from it (after “Money For Drugs”) is “Mr Pony Rainbow”, a playful glam/neo-psychedelia cut, that is unveiled alongside the accompanying video directed by Alen Galante and Graham (Harry) Hardy. The band brilliantly embraces the weirdness, inviting listeners to get lost in their dreamlike bizarre world.
Hotline TNT, the New York-based project of indie musician Will Anderson, announced their signing to Third Man Records, and shared the new single/video, “Protocol”.
It is a brilliant rock number with some magical guitars combined with raw lyrical honesty and emotional depth. The song demonstrates Anderson’s ability to create a heartfelt and relatable piece of music that resonates with listeners on a personal level.
Speaking about it, he says: “This song is about falling on a sword — sometimes you just gotta hold an L even when in your heart of hearts you know it’s not fair. Saving the relationship is worth taking the blame now and again”.
