The new song is an instant classic that features the band’s signature dreamy guitar sound and hazy vocals, with a catchy and upbeat melody. The lyrics are reflective and introspective, touching on personal themes for Dustin Payseur of the group. He says the following about it:
“‘Don’t Fade Away’ is about missing old friends, being on tour, self-medicating, longing, anxiety, love, being an idiot, having fun, embracing your mistakes and keeping your spark”.
The track’s overall vibe is both nostalgic and hopeful, capturing the bittersweet nature of life’s transitions and the human desire for connection and stability. With its lush instrumentation and beautiful lyrics, the song is sure to resonate with fans of the band and newcomers alike. The single is also accompanied by the music video, directed by Kevin Clark, that sees Payseur wandering around and performing in various locations.
