“River (Down)” is another heavy smasher by Irish four-piece Naked Lungs, who keep on masterfully building up the suspense for the release of their debut record Doomscroll. It will be out on August 18, and we also heard two impressive singles previously.

The new one is a powerful and haunting song that shows the band’s wall-of-sound approach and intense energy, that constantly keeps the listener on edge.

In addition to the new single, Naked Lungs also recently announced details for their first headline UK tour, which is due to start in September and will finish at The Shacklewell Arms in London on 3rd Oct (tickets are available here).

Already having released three stellar EPs, Luxembourg-based artist Francis of Delirium returns today with a new Catherine Marks-produced (boygenius, Wolf Alice, The Killers) song, “Real Love”.

The track sees her shifting the direction a bit more towards the warmer and softer sound, which has a timeless quality to it, with nods to artists like Sheryl Crow, Jeff Buckley, and Joni Mitchell, while still feeling fresh and contemporary.

[song] MJ Lenderman – Rudolph

Asheville, NC’s singer-songwriter and guitarist of the band Wednesday MJ Lenderman today announces his signing to ANTI- and shares a new single, “Rudolph”. It will be A-side to a forthcoming 7-inch single, which can be pre-ordered now and will be out in the autumn.

The song marks the musician’s first new recording following the release of his fantastic 2022 LP, Boat Songs. Lenderman says the following about it:

“‘Rudolph’ was the first song I wrote after the release of Boat Songs. I had been sitting on the guitar part for a long time and slowly worked out the song whenever I could in between tours in 2022. I finished the lyrics with my friend one late night after a Wednesday gig in Atlanta”.

South London’s post-punk organisational workforce unit Human Resources doubles down on their performance-driven management solutions and lays the foundations for the debut EP.

Malperfect is set for release on August 11, accompanied by a launch show at The George Tavern (with support from For Breakfast). With the announcement, we also get the new single “Kinshasa Shuffle”, a chaotic and groovy new cut and the one to dance to, as the band explains:

“In the grand tradition of The Hokey-Cokey and the Cha Cha Slide, we present our own take on the ‘dance song’ with easy-to-follow instructions and a propulsive rhythm to jive along to at home!”.
