Building on the success of their previous single “Mere Mortal”, DEADLETTER have unveiled another preview of their upcoming debut album Hysterical Strength (out on September 13 through SO Recordings) — “Mother”.

The song takes direct inspiration from the Bong Joon Ho film of the same name and is another outstanding art punk stomper from the group. It blends intricate guitar riffs with cascading saxophone melodies, featuring segments that rise and fall dramatically, leaving a lasting impression on the listener.

DEADLETTER are announcing today their highly-anticipated debut album Hysterical Strength, which will be out on September 13 through SO Recordings.

Along with the news they are sharing a new single/music video “Mere Mortal”, a powerful and thunderous art punk number that arose from the aftermath of a personal tragedy—a friend’s suicide.

Speaking about it, lead singer Zac Lawrence shared: “Though Mere Mortal was written in the wake of personal tragedy, its intention is not to convey the sentiment of subjective grief, but to act as an undoubtedly relatable tale of loss and longing for all those who themselves have been faced with and have had to navigate the confusing, painful landscape that bereavement leaves one confronted by”.

Confident and focused, DEADLETTER are on the rise with a growing fanbase and a dedication to breaking through. Following “The Snitching Hour”, the South London-rooted outfit shares a new post-punk stomper “Degenerate Inanimate”, out now via SO Recordings.

The term “degenerate inanimate” was self-coined by the band and refers to someone you might come across who is in no way what they say they are. On the single, frontman Zac Lawrence says:

“Degenerate Inanimate alludes to the feeling of betrayal felt when someone close to you is revealed as dishonest to the bone. There’s a unique form of unease which arises from having your basic intelligence mocked, as they reveal their complete lack of decency”.

The hardworking band is touring non-stop as well, with many dates lined up for the rest of the year, three of which would be in Italy:
