[album] Roxy Girls – The Effect of Tomorrow

The Sunderland four-piece Roxy Girls have returned with a brand new EP The Effect of Tomorrow, recorded a bit earlier this year when the band members were able to reunite together in the studio in between the lockdowns.

Although the runtime is short, there are four thunderous art punk anthems here with inventive instrumentals, strong vocals and smart lyrics.

Listen below and buy the EP on 7″ pink vinyl here. The group redirects 50% of all proceeds to the Sunderland Foodbank charity.

[song] Tom Sanders – Little Human

LH

Great news — we will get the debut album from Tom Sanders (who also plays in the fantastic band Teleman) before the end of the year.

It is titled Only Magic and is out December 4 via Moshi Moshi Records. With the announcement we also got a new song, “Little Human”, a sweet, clever and catchy number, which started initially as a song for Tom’s daughter.

[album] Moscoman – Time Slips Away

MM

Chen Moscovici aka Moscoman is an extremely talented producer, which is evident on his second LP Time Slips Away, released earlier this month on Moshi Moshi Records.

He switches from style to style confidently and with the distinctive personal touch — you can hear the elements of disco, house, funk, new wave, synth pop here, and all of it is blended masterfully into one final project, which showcases his ability to work within every genre.

Nothing here is out of place and the whole record is a smooth 51-minute trip, which gets even stronger thanks to the great collaborations (the album features Tom Sanders from Teleman, Korean-British band Wooze, singer-songwriter Niki Kini and more).
