[video] Fat Dog – King of the Slugs

Fat Dog performing live at Micro Festival’13, Liege’23

Fat Dog is one of those bands that got very popular before releasing a single piece of music, thanks to their chaotic live show energy, magnetic charisma and great-great songs. Today they announce the signing to Domino Records and finally release the debut single “King of the Slugs”.

To say that it delivers is to say nothing. It’s a massive 7+ minute techno/rave/post-folk/rock/punk/jazz/whatever cut that is absolutely bombastic and smashes everything on its way.

Co-produced by frontman Joe Love and James Ford, the song is out now digitally, with a full 12″ inch vinyl pressing to follow on October 20. It is paired with the music video, directed by Dylan Coates.

[ep] Flasher – In My Myth

DC band Flasher is not taking a pause and following up last year’s excellent record Love Is Yours with the new EP titled In My Myth. Out now via Domino Records, it consists of four tracks, each of which is distinct in its own way and offers a different perspective on the band’s sound.

Emma Baker and Taylor Mulitz continued their collaboration with Owen Wuerker on production, and Jorge Elbrecht mixing, and created a well-balanced collection of indie rock stompers with enough personality, noisy guitars and a brilliant combination of their vocals (which are delivered with their inimitable style and a sense of urgency) to satisfy both their fanbase and potential new listeners.

[song] Sorry – Closer

Ahead of the release of their new album Anywhere But Here this Friday (on Domino Records), Sorry share the latest single from it, “Closer”. It is a beautiful and melancholic number that underlines their gentle yet quite haunting sound.

It follows the previously unleashed songs “There’s So Many People That Want To Be Loved”, “Key To The City” and “Let The Lights On”.

The duo would also play in Italy early next year, on February 22 in Milan (at Arci Bellezza) and on February 23 in Bologna (at Covo Club).

[album] DC Gore – All These Things

The best word to describe All These Things, a debut LP by DC Gore, is BIG. Because that is how it sounds. Songs created by Dominic Gore, the artist who goes by this moniker, ideally showcase the best example of modern indie dance music.

With all its expansive, epic synth-pop with pulsating rhythms, smart lyrics, big choruses, and rare saxophone inserts, this is a record with a big creative spark and is a fantastic example of Dominic’s talent.
