In March bedbug will release their fourth album titled pack your bags, the sun is growing via Disposable America. Over the years, the project of Dylan Gamez Citron (they/them) has grown from a solo outfit in Boston, MA to a full-fledged indie rock band in Los Angeles.

The latest preview of an upcoming LP is “postcard”, an incredibly well-crafted piece that masterfully combines indie rock grandeur and emo/bedroom pop sensibilities. It stands out for its emotional depth, resonating with listeners who find solace in its passionate storytelling and relatable themes. Another beautiful offering from bedbug!

[ep] Lando Manning – Brighter Days

Lando Manning’s EP “Brighter Days” is a hauntingly beautiful collection that invites listeners into the intimate depths of his soul. Written in dark mental states, it demonstrates his raw talent and introspective lyricism in a stripped-down, acoustic setting, akin to the classic works of 70s folk songwriters like Nick Drake and Towns Van Zandt.

Manning’s delicate fingerpicking and calming vocals draw listeners in, while his contemplative lyrics paint a vivid picture of vulnerability and longing. Despite the gloomy nature of the mini-album, it still feels hopeful and reminds us that no matter how dire our circumstances may seem, there is always a glimmer of light waiting to guide us towards a brighter tomorrow.

[video] Lambrini Girls – God’s Country

Lambrini Girls performing live at Micro Festival’13, Liege’23

Last year Lambrini Girls released their outstanding debut EP You’re Welcome, and now they are sharing a new single/video, an angry noise punk ripper “God’s Country” (recorded by Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox).

The trio is well-known for their unapologetically raw and boundary-pushing sound; here they deliver another strong punch. In this track, the band dives headfirst into the tumultuous waters of the current Great Britain, offering listeners a sonic journey through the chaos that defines our modern existence. Speaking on the track, the group explained:

“Gods Country is our long, overdue call-out of the government and rise of the far right. We wrote this a few months back, when the political landscape had evidently reached a global boiling point. Great Britain. Think colonial, shit-hole, chunk of land. Thriving off unhinged nationalism, fed to us by the right red hand of unelected prime ministers.

Despite this, we have the audacity to call our country ‘Great’. So we ask you, ‘Are you sure?’ We could deep dive into inspirations and influences- but the songs about politics, not us. We hope the song speaks for itself. Rishi, Cameron, Cummings, Starmer – you’re all on our shit list”.

[video] Grandaddy – Long as I’m Not the One

Cult indie rock band Grandaddy (whose new LP Blu Wav will be out this Friday already) shared a new music video for “Long as I’m Not the One”, created and directed by auteur Aaron Beckham.

Inspired by old Hollywood and the Three Amigos, the visuals follow the story of a lonely cowboy. It is accompanied by the heartbreak ballad that exemplifies Grandaddy’s distinctive mixture of indie rock, lo-fi aesthetics, and introspective lyricism.
