“The Landlord” is a new single from London art-rock four-piece Legss, on which in their characteristically sharp and satirical manner the group shares reflections on the topic of legacy, creativity and real possibilities, which often leave us no choice.
Frontman Ned Green’s vocals range from monotonous spoken word to exhausted screams, while a flurry of thick guitars creates a sense of imminent tension.

The song “Sleep Forever”, which was released on Friday, is a catchy and energetic track that showcases the band’s huge potential and abilities. At its core, it is a song about dismissing confrontation and saying that it’s OK to put reality on pause sometimes.
Vocalist/guitarist Keira McGuire explains: “Sleep Forever is a song about blocking out the realities of life and living in your own world, not wanting to grow up, becoming an adult which puts an end to teenage daydreams and fantasies”.
Shapeshifting English band Squid returns with the surreal electronic number “Swing (In A Dream)”, their first new music since releasing the excellent debut album Bright Green Field.
Squid live at Pohoda Festival’22
Speaking about it, singer and drummer Ollie Judge says: “This was inspired by a dream I had about a painting called The Swing by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. In my dream I was in the painting but it was flooded and everything was floating away”.
It is the first song taken from the band’s upcoming new album O Monolith, set for release on June 9 through Warp Records, and it is also out with the music video, directed by Yoonha Park.
Squid would also be touring a lot this year, having already lined up a big set of dates for the next months, including both single gigs and festival appearances. The only show in Italy would be in Milan @ Santeria Toscana 31 on September 19. Get the tickets for that here and find the full list of dates on the band’s website.
