[ep] Guds Pengar – Solens uppgång och fall

The original Guds Pengar line-up that released Solens uppgång och fall on their Bandcamp in 2015

Earlier this month Rama Lama Records released a real jewel of Swedish underground music — the debut EP from 2015 by Malmö DIY band Guds Pengar titled Solens uppgång och fall. The remastered album features the awesome lead single “Komet”, and also the first ever release of live favorite “Borgatroll”.

The collection is out now, both digitally as well as on a deluxe CD together with the group’s 2020 debut album Granar som flyr staden. An absolute must-have for the lovers of melodic and loud indie rock.

[album] DC Gore – All These Things

The best word to describe All These Things, a debut LP by DC Gore, is BIG. Because that is how it sounds. Songs created by Dominic Gore, the artist who goes by this moniker, ideally showcase the best example of modern indie dance music.

With all its expansive, epic synth-pop with pulsating rhythms, smart lyrics, big choruses, and rare saxophone inserts, this is a record with a big creative spark and is a fantastic example of Dominic’s talent.

[album] Marci – Marci

Marta Cikojevic of Montreal soft-rock group TOPS has released her debut self-titled album as Marci, a half an hour of pop perfection ideal for these late Summer days.

Together with TOPS bandmate David Carriere (also of DVC Refreshments), who helped to make this record, they created the essential collection of brilliant synth pop. There are no fillers here, all songs are great and unique, full of great hooks and the exceptional charm of Cikojevic herself.

Along with Carriere and Cikojevic, the release also features Mitch Davis, Rene Wilson, and Austin Tufts (Braids) on drums, and Chloé Soldevila (Anemone), Adam Byczkowski (Better Person), and Jane Penny (TOPS) on backing vocals.

[album] Voxtrot – Cut from the Stone: Rarities & B-Sides

In early May, indie rock cult favorites Voxtrot released a reissue of their two 2000s EPs titled Early Music, now followed by Cut from the Stone, a collection of rarities, B-sides, and previously unreleased tracks.

The album’s key song is the undeniably sensual and haunting “Berlin, Without Return”, the band’s last single before they disappeared for more than 10 years. It is also worth highlighting the acoustic version of the group’s hit “The Start of Something”, the demo version of “Your Biggest Fan” and the absolutely wonderful “Fifteen Minutes”.

[album] BODEGA – Xtra Equipment

Any new song from Brooklyn art punk group BODEGA is always an event for us, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a fresh Xtra Equipment EP this morning.

BODEGA live in Milan’22

This additional release includes B-sides and bonus tracks recorded throughout 2020-2021 along with the rest of the songs that made it to their amazing latest album Broken Equipment, a masterful collection of creative, propulsive and unstoppable numbers.

BODEGA is also an exceptional live band, and starting from today they have returned on the road again, with many shows already scheduled in the USA and in the UK later this year.

Make sure to catch them live if you have a chance, because every concert is super dynamic, completely unique, shapeshifting and always featuring hits, rarities and tons of surprises.
