[live] Frog announce more US tour dates

After the success of GROG (out now via Audio Antihero / Tapewormies) and recent sellout shows in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York duo Frog (brothers Danny & Steve Bateman) will be touring the North Eastern United States next month.

They kick off the tour on March 14th, by playing in Pennsylvania for the first time when they go to Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia.

Heading back to New York for March 15th, Frog will headline New York’s legendary Knitting Factory in Manhattan.

On March 16th, they’ll return to Massachusetts for the first time since 2019, making their debut in Somerville at Warehouse Xi.

After a number of quiet years, Frog’s live schedule is beginning to pick up and they’re even teasing a fourth “TBA” date of the tour for March 23. With the band’s popularity continuing to grow over the last few years, these shows represent the first chance fans outside of New York will have had to see them live.

Details on all of Frog’s upcoming dates can be found on Linktree / Songkick.

[video] Frog – New Ro

Last month Frog (brothers Danny & Steve Bateman) released their excellent LP Grog, and now they are sharing new visuals for the album’s highlight “New Ro”.

The music video was directed by Jarod Walker and it sees the band members walking around the streets of New York, enjoying their time together.

[album] Frog – Grog

Last Friday New York duo Frog (brothers Danny & Steve Bateman) returned with the new LP Grog, and it is an absolute triumph. Rarely do we get an indie folk album that is arranged in such an emotive and nostalgic way, with rich instrumentation, a healthy dose of humour and relatable lyrical material.

Vocals and storytelling are truly in the spotlight here, and you cannot help but admire the work the pair did on those elements. Grog has this very open and friendly vibe, there’s no pretentiousness and you believe and feel every single moment. Bateman brothers put their whole souls in these songs and the overall result is a deeply moving and authentic collection.

It makes very little sense to dissect the record for separate songs. Like a good old classic LP, it is best experienced as a whole and with your full attention. Give it an honest listen and this record will stay with you for a long, long time.

The year is coming to an end but that does not mean we would not have some great new music in the coming weeks. One of our most-anticipated records of fall, Grog by NY duo Frog actually releases tomorrow, and today we get one latest preview of it to get us even more excited!

“Gone Back to Stanford” is closing the album and what a song it is! Starting slowly, it is a big number which builds at a steady pace to a cathartic, surging crescendo boosted by the big guitars, galloping drums and emotive vocal performance.
